100 years of Quality, Independence, and Impact
The Brookings Institution is a nonprofit public policy organization based in Washington, DC. Our mission is to conduct in-depth research that leads to new ideas for solving problems facing a society at the local, national and global level.
As we commemorate our centenary year, Brookings is proud to present the “Brookings 2.0” strategic plan, which outlines how we’ll pursue our commitment to improving governance. Recognizing new challenges and opportunities ahead, we have designed a set of goals – and steps to realize them – to ensure we have the resources and structures in place to advance our mission. We will continue to uphold our core values – Quality, Independence, Impact – while conducting in-depth research and analysis that produces bold solutions and new ideas well into our next century. Now more than ever, we’re driven by the promise of a better future and the determination necessary to secure it.
“The Brookings Institution [is] a think tank as respected as it is long-lived. Over the last century, empires have come and gone, the world order has changed but Brookings has sailed on, not just commenting on events but shaping them.”
– Lord Jonathan Hill, Member, European Commission
